News: Attention Deer Hunters!
The State has placed 175 G11 tags to be sold on terminals anywhere where licenses are sold. This will allow our customers that are not conveniently located near the Base Exchange to purchase the tag.  On that note, it is recommended that those WHO HAVE LOCAL ACCESS to the Base Exchange to purchase it there.  There are 325 tags being sold to our Base Exchange patrons. All tags are first come first serve. Please e-mail Officer Moses with any questions: wayne.moses.1@us.af.mil
Again, please be considerate of VAFB hunters living outside the convenient range of the Base Exchange.

Attention Civilian Hunters!

With the AAFES restriction stopping all sales to civilians, the state of California has allowed Vandenberg AFB (VAFB) to honor the Zone A Deer tag.  Civilians authorized to hunt on VAFB will be able to purchase Zone A Deer tags at any licensed office.  As you know, Zone A has already begun.  What this means is that you may hunt right now with a Zone A tag on VAFB.  Zone A season is 13 August – 20 September.  This office has to follow the laws of the state pertaining to that tag, i.e., Buck Only, Forked Horn or better.  There will be no season extension for Zone A for loss hunting days due to operational mission requirements.

Use Fee Stamp Sales

Due to logistical problems, this office (Conservation Law Enforcement) will be selling the Hunting Use Fee Stamp.  $50.00 dollars, cash only.

Deer Hunting Procedures.

Hunting Permit Issue

For right now, due to manning shortages, this office will only be open for Hunting Permit Issue at regular office hours.  Office hours are Monday –    Friday 0730-1630 hrs.  Weekend and Holidays 0830- 0930 and 1530-1630 hrs.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!  You need to plan accordingly.

Hunter Check-in/Checkout procedures

Call the Conservation Office prior to the start of your hunt and give your Name, Use Fee Number, and Hunting Area you will be hunting.  You also must call when you switch Hunting Areas and when you have finished hunting.  In the case no person answers the phone leave a message.  The    voicemail will not answer if someone else is on that line, so please try again when the line is free.

Big Game Check In Procedure

Follow the established procedure already in place prescribed by 30SWI-32-7001 para. 13… Conservation Office Closed call Law Enforcement Desk at 606-3911 and tell the Desk Sgt you need to get a hold of a Conservation Officer to check in Game.  DO NOT CALL IF YOU NEED A HUNTING PERMIT.
