News: Attention Deer Hunters!
The State has placed 175 G11 tags to be sold on terminals anywhere where licenses are sold. This will allow our customers that are not conveniently located near the Base Exchange to purchase the tag.  On that note, it is recommended that those WHO HAVE LOCAL ACCESS to the Base Exchange to purchase it there.  There are 325 tags being sold to our Base Exchange patrons. All tags are first come first serve. Please e-mail Officer Moses with any questions: wayne.moses.1@us.af.mil
Again, please be considerate of VAFB hunters living outside the convenient range of the Base Exchange.

I am BRAC move from Onizuka AFB.  I will be there around May 10th.  I was wondering what kind of fishing there is on Base.  One of the bennies of going to VAFB was that there was fishing on base. Both small lakes and surf fishing on the coast.  I just read that the lakes are all dead and that there is no longer any fishing allowed in the surf.  Is this true or is there still fishing allowed on base?

Looking forward to meeting you all

Its pretty much true for the freshwater lakes on base. The rains have come and filled some areas up. The best bet still is going to be pine canyon lake. i think that there are still some good fish in there. Your best bet is going to be the ocean fishing. There is several places that are still great for rock cod, lingcod, grassy rock fish, perch and halibut.

Thank you for the information.  where on base are the places that I could go for the surf fishing?  I had read that it was all closes for the snowy plovers.
